Nordipine is a generic for amlodipine. It has equivalent effect and comparable to amlodipine in reducing blood pressure in healthy subjects. Its side effect is tolerable in studied subject. It may be used alternatively to amlodipine in indicated hypertensive patient. its role in treating hypertensive crisis in the emergency department however needs to be further studied. A multicentered and multiethnic cohorts will further ensure its safety and effectiveness in controlling blood pressure.
