This volume, reminiscent of the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary, contains the oldest rosary clausulae in Latin and their English counterparts. It brings together different traditional elements of a prayer that over centuries has evolved and which continues to form the faithful in the Gospel. By combining these deeply spiritual and theological formulae with the Hail Mary, the more ancient form of the rosary is wedded to its more recent expression. There are three Psalters or groupings of fifty meditations in this collection. The clausular rosary consecrates a particular mystery of the life of Jesus to each Hail Mary. Since this form of prayer aims to lead towards contemplation of the Mystery of Christ, the quantity of prayers is not what matters. It is for you to determine the number of themes you wish to contemplate. This ancient form of the Rosary is eminently suited to the observance of the Year of Faith.
