Finding friendship wasn't easy, especially for Pete. He'd grown very self-conscious about the size of his feet. Yet, befriending a snake wasn't a smart thing to do, in seeking help to tie the laces of his newly found shoes. Pete makes a bad choice and now he faces the trouble he's caused in tying his laces.
