They relocated to Boston, Massachusetts, in 2004 to join others in the historic State Supreme Court Decision to become one of the first same-sex couples to legally marry in the United States. While traveling in northern California, Carol and Robin stopped at a small diner for lunch. A wall covered in mirrors presented an opportunity for Robin to capture this selfie, showing her with camera in hand and Carol sitting in the background.
