Immigrant pioneers from Germany in the 1800's settle on Minnesota's remote frontier at Otter Falls, on the edge of the vast White Pine Forest. They struggle with Indians, cold and blizzards, yet succeed in building a large family farm and run the brewery through prohibition. After prohibition, they struggle to re-open the brewery. Wars and financing stand in their way. Will they complete the task?
