John Coakley holds the L. Russell Feakdes Memorial Professor of Church History at New Brunswick Theological Seminary, New Jersey.

Andrea Sterk is assistant professor of history at the University of Florida. Her books include Renouncing the World Yet Leading the Church: The Monk-Bishop in Late Antiquity.
