Reunification is a coming of age story set on the planet Mia. A Terran expedition landed there and brought technology which changed the native people, endowing them with magical abilities. It also created an evil force called Nabes. A great battle led by the Prophet ended with the destruction of Nabes, but after six centuries Nabes has returned. A boy named Tuac must unlock his magical ability to defeat Nabes permanently. Tuac journeys to the University to learn how to use his gift, but is expelled when his magic does not fit the rigid requirements. Guided by a mysterious entity called the Watcher, Tuac finds another teacher who leads him to Liat, a city of healers. They believe they can unlock his powers. While Tuac studies, Nabes begins a new conquest of the planet. When civil war destroys Liat, Tuac and his teacher flee. They return to the University and gather a group of allies. Together this small force challenges Nabes for control of Mia.
