Most of the patriots are identified according to where and when they served, date and place of birth, place of residence in Illinois, date of death, whether pensioned or not, and miscellaneous biographical information. The soldiers' names are arranged by county and alphabetically thereunder. A complete alphabetical list of all the Revolutionary veterans follows at the back of the volume.
