The bridging together of different backgrounds threw this family into a step-family spin. Was it because people thought Ms. Ery came from the other side of the tracks? Normalizing relationships-How many times have I heard this phrase? What good does it do to talk about it? Well, in the case of blended families, it would depend on genuine intentions and who is attempting to go through those road blocks, unscathed. With respect to Ms. Ery, I would venture to say that although her previous experience would drive anyone nuts, she has prevailed, and her attitude can be used as a living testimony, that perseverance, if used wisely, can be a determining tool in a person's constant search for a normal relationship. I pray that those who read this book, will walk away with a different perspective on life, especially ones who are currently involved in a similar dilemma.
