Sara Katherine Shepperd grew up visiting and also living in the Texas Hill Country all her life. She's been around horses for a while now and really enjoyed getting to ride one in Colorado one summer in Buena Vista. Her inspiration for "Snowflake" came from the nostalgic feeling of the country life and a young girl's heart that reminded her of her own when in high school. She started writing this book at fifteen years old. Her daughter was her inspiration of finishing her first novel and the main character's name.
