A young lifeguard experiences the perils of the ocean on the Jersey Shore after witnessing a drowning death on the beach. He learns the skills and knowledge necessary for saving and protecting lives in an often unforgiving and unpredictable sea. He will soon be the difference between life and death by drowning on the notorious Black Sunday on Labor Day Weekend, when the ocean is often turbulent and most threatening to unsuspecting swimmers.
