Author Biography

Rich Halas is an English teacher, instructional coach, and athletic coach born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan, where he received his public education. He attended Northern Michigan University for his undergraduate program in secondary education of English and The American College of Education for his graduate program in educational Leadership. Halas began his teaching career in rural Hertford County, North Carolina before moving to urban Hopewell, Virgina. The majority of students served by both of those school divisions come from poverty. Today Halas continues to live and work as a full-time instructional coach in Hopewell, VA while serving as Hopewell High School's head coach of wrestling and both the men's and women's cross country teams.
