A diagnosis of Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis can feel daunting at first. There is no clearly defined path that newly diagnosed people should follow and therein lies the author's motivation for this book. Alexa Federico has lived with Crohn's disease since she was an adolescent and has learned that living well with IBD requires a look into the person as a whole, not just a narrow view of the disease.
