In Covington, Alleghany County, Virginia, Miss Agnes C. Pharr, the daughter of the Rev. Dion Cassius Pharr, died on March 6th, 1854. Her death made the Virginia newspapers only because of its romantically tragic timing.In the next two months, however, talk began to circulate in Covington about her death.
