Author Biography

W. O. E. Oesterley (1866-1950) was educated at Jesus College, Cambridge, and Wells Theological College. He served as curate and vicar in parishes in Durham County, in Colchester, and in London (1891-1923). In 1923 he was awarded an honorary lectureship at King's College, London, and in 1927 became Professor of Hebrew and Old Testament Exegesis there, retiring in 1936.
