What started out as just some random E-mails to friends became a monthly serial in a local magazine. The book of camp recipes and stories was the natural follow-up. Mr. Davis was born in Wisconsin, and lived and worked there, then New York State, Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. And, while winter snow up to the windowsills and a dinner of boiled potatoes seemed normal in those places, he has learned to appreciate the sunny warmth of the South as well as fresh shrimp, local peaches and bread pudding with bourbon sauce.
