The Little Beaver and the Beautiful Forest is a children's book written and illustrated by Amanda MacKay themed on the social and environmental issues surrounding sustainable forestry. The little beaver chews down all of the trees in the forest to make himself a home in the river; leaving the beautiful forest in ruins and the other forest creatures very unhappy. The solution to the story, similarly to the solution of sustainable forestry, is that the little beaver and the other forest animals collect the fallen nuts, fruits and berries to replant and regrow the beautiful forest.
