Seniors planning to build a home specifically for comfortable retirement living should shift their emphasis to real structural quality and not cosmetic features. By shifting the construction budget to stronger roof, stronger walls, more foundation ties, more/higher grade insulation (low-energy use), better exterior material, and less "curb-appeal" features, a more comfortable abode will be the reward.
