The book explore the impact of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder with African American females and the role that spirituality plays in their recovery. Complex PTSD is defined as a condition that results from chronic or long-term exposure to trauma over which a victim has little or no control of such as in cases of domestic, emotional, physical or sexual abuse. With regards to African-American women Complex PTSD include intergenerational trauma, sexism, classism, racism, historical trauma, child abuse, community violence, and oppression.
