His doctoral thesis at the\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eUniversity of Oxford analysed strategies for managing senior management activity under the\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003erubric of Anglo-American corporate governance principles. He is a Chartered Manager and\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eFellow of the Chartered Management Institute, a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePersonnel and Development, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Immediate\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003epast Chair of the Corporate Governance Special Interest Group of the British Academy of\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eManagement, he has occupied a series of senior management posts in industry during privatization\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eand internationalization initiatives, served as secretary to a FTSE top-30 board remuneration\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ecommittee, as a board non-executive director, and as an advisor to an array of state-owned and\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003estock market-listed companies transnationally.
