New England. 1648. The Piscataqua Settlement. A young woman has been found dead, her violated body stripped naked and thrown in a river. Author Biography

ROBERT J. BEGIEBING is professor of English emeritus at Southern New Hampshire University. He is the author of six books, including two other novels in this historical trilogy: The Adventures of Allegra Fullerton and Rebecca Wentworth's Distraction.
