His most recent novel is \u003ci\u003eThe Shelter Cycle\u003c\/i\u003e. He is also the author of the novels \u003ci\u003eMy Abandonment\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eThis Is the Place\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eCarnival Wolves\u003c\/i\u003e, \u003ci\u003eThe Bewildered\u003c\/i\u003e, and \u003ci\u003eThe Ambidextrist\u003c\/i\u003e, and a story collection, \u003ci\u003eThe Unsettling\u003c\/i\u003e. Rock attended Deep Springs College, received a BA in English from Yale University, and held a Wallace Stegner Fellowship at Stanford University. He has taught fiction at the University of Pennsylvania, Yale, Deep Springs College, and in the MFA program at San Francisco State University. His stories and freelance writing have both appeared and been anthologized widely, and his books published in various countries and languages. The recipient of a 2014 Guggenheim Fellowship, a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, an Alex Award and others, he currently resides in Portland, Oregon, where he is a Professor in the English Department of Reed College. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cb\u003eBrian Evenson\u003c\/b\u003e is the author of a dozen books of fiction, most recently the story collection \u003ci\u003eWindeye\u003c\/i\u003e and the novel \u003ci\u003eImmobility\u003c\/i\u003e, both of which were finalists for a Shirley Jackson Award. His novel \u003ci\u003eLast Days\u003c\/i\u003e won the American Library Association's award for Best Horror Novel of 2009). His novel \u003ci\u003eThe Open Curtain\u003c\/i\u003e was a finalist for an Edgar Award and an International Horror Guild Award. Other books include \u003ci\u003eThe Wavering Knife\u003c\/i\u003e (which won the IHG Award for best story collection), \u003ci\u003eDark Property\u003c\/i\u003e, and \u003ci\u003eAltmann's Tongue\u003c\/i\u003e. He has translated work by Christian Gailly, Jean Frémon, Claro, Jacques Jouet, Eric Chevillard, Antoine Volodine, Manuela Draeger, David B., and others. He is the recipient of three O. Henry Prizes as well as an NEA fellowship. His work has been translated into French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and Slovenian.
