by W. Wesley Johnston (Author)

Following World War II, Gen. Bruce C. Clarke commanded the Armored School at Fort Knox, Kentucky. General Clarke had commanded Combat Command B of the 7th Armored Division during CCB's defense of St. Vith, Belgium in December 1944, during the Battle of the Bulge. The unusual use of an armored division in defense during that battle was documented for students at the Armored School in a book "The Defense of St. Vith, Belgium 17-23 December 1944: An Historical Example of Armor in the Defense." This is an annotated transcription, with an index added, of one edition of that book, with appendices providing further information.Wesley Johnston's search for his father's WWII experiences expanded to include all of 7th Armored Division. He became the Historian for the 7th Armored Division Association and the Founding President of the American WWII Association Historians Consortium.
