This is the story of the wedding of Sultan Mohamed Imaduddeen VI of Maldives to an Egyptian lady in the city of Suez, and how as a result he was overthrown . The story also gives an insight about the relationship between the dominant colonial power in the region, Great Britain and the island nation of Maldives at the beginning of the twentieth century.
