Dr. Geehr has served as an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine and Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, was Chief of Emergency Services at San Francisco General Hospital, and medical director for the city's EMS system. In addition to his academic and clinical experience, Dr. Geehr was global head of operations for a pharmaceutical company where he observed firsthand the interaction between the drug industry and regulators. Dr. Geehr was founding president of the Wilderness Medical Society, an international medical society with a focus on medicine in remote environments, and co-editor of the medical textbook \u003ci\u003eManagement of Wilderness and Environmental Emergencies\u003c\/i\u003e.
