Author Biography

Mr. Sutan Muhammad Amin, who often worked under the name Krueng Raba Nasution, was born in Lhok Ngah in the Aceh Besar district. He attended STOVIA in Batavia in 1919, but quit the medical school after two years. He turned to law, attending the Batavia Law School, and went on to work as an 'Advocaat Procureur', serving as a an attorney in the Court of Justice of Medan. He was subsequently appointed as the junior governor of North Sumatra. In 1947, Amin was sworn in as the governor of North Sumatra. In 1991, Amin received a medal of honor, the Bintang Jasa Utama, from President Soeharto. In 1991, he received the Bintang Legiun Veteran honorary medal, awarded by the Head of the Legion of Veterans of the Republic of Indonesia.
Amin wrote 20 books during his lifetime, 12 of which were released by publishers in Medan, Jakarta and Penang. The remaining eight works remain unpublished. This book is a translation of the original Bahasa Indonesia book, published by OBOR
