The state of Florida has everything, the Atlantic Ocean on one side the Gulf of Mexico on the other side, a swamp to the south, prairies and forest in the center. In the mid-eighteen hundreds a migration of settlers headed to the Hernando County area of Florida to tame the wilderness. Men and women came in equal numbers. Too often the contribution made by the women is overlooked. Join the author Linda Welker in a discussion of these brave women throughout the 1800s and early 1900s.
