This report summarizes efforts to monitor wolves (Canis lupus) in Denali National Park and Preserve (DENA), Alaska, through spring 2011. Wolves occur in all three parks of the Central Alaska Monitoring Network (CAKN): Denali National Park and Preserve, Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve, and Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve. Wolves are one of six keystone large mammal species in interior Alaska, along with grizzly bears (Ursus arctos), black bears (Ursus americanus), moose (Alces alces). caribou (Rangifer tarandus), and Dall's sheep (Ovis dalli).
