Julie Flett es una artista & escritora de ascendencia Swampy Cree y Red River Métis. Estudió Bellas Artes en la Universidad Concordia en Montreal y la Universidad Emily Carr de Arte + Diseño en Vancouver. Ha recibido el Premio Gobernador General de literatura infantil para sus ilustraciones de When We Were Alone escritor por David Robertson, y su libro Birdsong ganó el Premio TD de literatura infantil canadiense y fue finalista para el Premio Gobernador General.
