This second volume in our OLD HOLLYWOOD IN COLOR series offers an appreciation of the first era of film stars from the 'teens through the 1920s. Studios were quick to exploit the public's fascination with popular movie celebrities and reinforced this interest by supplying autographed photos from the stars themselves. Although many of the signatures were facsimiles, like the movies themselves, these photos created the illusion of an acquaintance, a link, perhaps even a bond between celebrity and fan. All photographs have been digitally restored and many are color enhanced.
